High asset divorce comes with accusations and possible bigamy

In a case of high asset divorce, a member of the Florida House of Representatives has accused his wife of bigamy. She allegedly was married to another man and remained married to him for quite some time when she was also married to the representative. The couple has been married 24 years. The representative and his wife were married in 1990.

The divorce papers list bigamy as a cause for divorce. He says that his soon-to-be ex-wife committed bigamy and lied about being divorced. She has allegedly stated that she was secretly divorced from her first husband in 1994.

The alleged lie, according to the representative's attorney, was an attempt to get the congressman to marry her. The representative says he remained in the dark on this issue for years and holds that the truth is that she never divorced her first husband.

The wife of the legislator has accusations of her own. She has stated in a report that her husband physically pushed her while they were having an argument in their home. They were living in Orlando, Florida, at the time. The representative was not charged with any crime at the time.

The legislator is suing his spouse for $15,000 in a case of defamation. The cause of this charge is that she used this pushing incident, which may or may not have occurred, against him in the media. This is according to the divorce papers of this high asset divorce.

The couple has five children together. The member of the Florida House of Representatives is filing for full child custody of the children. One is over the age of accountability; however, four of them are underage and parental responsibility has yet to be decided in this case.
